This version of Ninite Solution has been tested with the following versions of LabTech.

  • Resolved an issue with Google Drive File Stream which was preventing Updates and Installations from being performed
  • Resolved an issue with triggering an Audit from the On Demand section of the Ninite Solution DashboardLocation ScreenClient Screen which resulted in the Script running normally and not exiting after the audit had been completed


Be sure to update you Approvals to enable Ninite Solution to perform Installations and Updates for newly added applications.

New Additions

  • Added a Ninite Solution tab to the Client Screen allowing you to view Audit Details, History as well as perform On Demand actions
  • Added support to override the default behaviour of Ninite when handling updates for Skype 7.x to 8.x for Windows 10 which can be enabled Globally or per Location the setting is located within the Version Definitions section, see statement below from the Ninite Team for more details.


Ninite Team Statement regarding Skype

Skype for Windows Desktop v8.x has not been well received and we've been getting feedback that users do not want to upgrade from 7.x to 8.x. So we've modified the behavior of NinitePro.exe so that updating Skype will not just happen, but rather needs to be intentional.

This only applies to Windows 10 machines. Windows 7 machines should get updated to Skype v8.x, when Windows 10 machines have Skype 8.x installed, they will again be updated normally. It's just the 7.x to 8.x that is being prevented.

Using the Plugin Installer method is currently the preferred method for installing Updates.

  1. Review Update Instructions
