About

With the release of ConnectWise Automate 2021 there have been some changes made which prevents the Plugin Installer from communicating with the Automate Database which allowed for the installation of Plugins and their required dependencies.

Due to this change the Installer now requires that a small plugin be manually installed to your automate server using the Plugin Manager, the sole purpose of this plugin is to facilitate the communication between the Installer and the ConnectWise Automate system allowing for the successful management of Plugins and their required dependencies.

Installing (or Updating) the Helper Plugin

To Install the Helper Plugin simply follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Download and Extract the Plugin DLL to a Folder of your choosing [ Download Link ].

  2. Open the Folder where you extracted the Plugin DLL

  3. Ensure that the DLL is not Blocked by Right-clicking the MP.Plugin.Installer.Helper.dll and selecting Properties and Clicking on Unblock and then Ok.

  4. Open the ConnectWise Automate Control Center.

  5. Open the Plugin Manager.

  6. Navigate to “Add Plugin” Advanced > Manage Plugins > Add Plugin.

  7. Browse to the folder where you extracted MP.Plugin.Installer.Helper.dll and select it and then Open.

  8. Review the details and select Save and Close.

  9. Highlight “MP Plugin Installer Helper” in the list of Plugins within the Plugin Manager and select the Enable button located at the top of the screen and select Yes to restarting the database agent when prompted.

  10. Once the Database Agent has successfully been restarted you can close the Plugin Manager.

  11. Back within the Automate Control Center Navigate to the “Server Status” Help > Server Status

  12. Select “Reload IIS” from the Server Status Screen and click Ok to the confirmation Prompt and close the Server Status screen.

  13. Done! You can now Launch the Plugin Installer to Install or Update supported Plugins.
