RELEASED 28 April 2022

Ninite Solution versioning scheme has been updated to be calendar based to help clarify age of releases the new versioning will be Year, Month and Build with this in mind this release of Ninite Solution is version 2022.5 Build 1.

Compatibility

Ninite Solution has been tested with the following versions of Software

  • ConnectWise Automate 2022, 2021

  • MySQL Database versions 8.0, 5.7, 5.6

New and Improved

  • Added ability to configure “Disable In-Built Automatic Updates” at the location level.

  • Added CSV Option to the file export for History Details on Client, Location and Computer Screens

  • Added CSV Option to the file export for Audit Details on Client, Location and Computer Screens

  • Updated the application lists allowing for display names in place of the name specified by Ninite.

  • Updated installation check process for Acrobat Reader (see: Acrobat Reader Changes)

  • Updated Report Template: Ninite Solution - Third Party Compliance Report

    • Application list ordering has been changed to be alphabetical.

    • Application names will now use the display name in place of the name defined by Ninite (see: Application Support for the list of applications that were updated.)

    • Removed the MySQL 8.0 / 5.7 section from the System Dashboard for fixing the broken database trigger; This has been replaced by automated validation method.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue which was preventing the Available Version from being correctly displayed for TeamViewer in the Audit Screens within the Control Center.

  • Resolved an issue which was preventing data to be fully populated when exporting audit results to PDF or Excel from the Client Screen.

  • Resolved an issue which was preventing notifications relating to licensing and other important issues from being displayed.

Acrobat Reader Changes

With the new addition of Acrobat Reader x64 DC and it being a considered a separate application there were potential scenarios where Ninite would attempt to install Acrobat Reader (32bit) and it would fail with an “Could not verify installation” message, this was due to Acrobat Reader x64 DC (or Acrobat Reader) already being installed, because of this Ninite Solution will make some assumptions when applying approvals relating to Acrobat Reader products.

Assuming that both Acrobat Reader x64 DC and Acrobat Reader are configured for Installation Ninite Solution will evaluate the installation priority as follows:

  • When Acrobat Reader x64 DC is installed, Ninite Solution will not attempt to install Acrobat Reader.

  • When Acrobat Reader is installed, Ninite Solution will not attempt to install Acrobat Reader x64 DC.

  • When neither product is installed, Ninite Solution will attempt to install Acrobat Reader x64 DC first and then Acrobat Reader if unsuccessful.

Application Support

Remember to update your approvals for Ninite Solution to be able to take action against any new Applications.

  • Renamed: Reader → Acrobat Reader

  • Renamed: Edge → Microsoft Edge

  • Version Definitions for TeamViewer, Firefox ESR and Reader have been updated.
